The definition of a long ball is a one or two handed shoulder pass over a long distance.

It is important for players to determine if the length of the pass should be either a chest pass or a shoulder pass. To get players reacting automatically to distance and the appropriate pass, players need constant practice. The skill of a pass reaction can be cruicial in a pressure match as passes should still be hard and strong in those last few minutes of a close match.

  • I was selected in Mel’s team when I was thinking that it was my last year of playing competitive.

Since being coached by Mel I have played at Tier 1 level for over 6 years and represented Queensland twice at the aged Nationals.
